The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) has compiled theirannual\u00a0Top 10 list of the fittest cities in America and I\u2019m proud to say I live in #3, Boston! \u00a0Here\u2019s\u00a0the list<\/a>\u00a0\u2026<\/p>\n To see the entire list,\u00a0go here<\/a>\u00a0(it\u2019s a PDF) and scroll down to page eight.<\/p>\n This is an annual study conducted by the American College of Sports Medicine that compiles an American Fitness Index which looks at personal health, community, and environmental factors.<\/p>\n I can tell you that in Boston we have a combination of the Emerald Necklace, a string of parks that ring the city, as well as our crown jewel, the Charles River and its park called the Esplanade, which has beautiful vistas and lots of trails. \u00a0We also skew younger as a city which inherently means we\u2019re more active. \u00a0I love living here for just those reasons; that and we\u2019re only minutes from ocean beaches and a couple hours drive to the mountains. \u00a0This really is a cool place to be.<\/p>\n There are lots of factors people look at when they are choosing where to live, but what if where you lived could actually affect your longevity, or your kid\u2019s longevity? \u00a0Would that make you think twice about where to purchase a home?<\/p>\n Our environment does have a lot to do with how we interact with the world. \u00a0I\u2019d much rather be looking at some lovely trees than a concrete jungle. \u00a0How does where you live make you feel? \u00a0I\u2019ve already talked about how\u00a0working out outdoors can lift your mood<\/a>.<\/p>\n Let me know you\u2019re thoughts,<\/p>\n Lisa<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) has compiled theirannual\u00a0Top 10 list of the fittest cities in America and I\u2019m proud to say I live in #3, Boston! \u00a0Here\u2019s\u00a0the list\u00a0\u2026 Minneapolis \/ St. Paul Washington, DC Boston Portland, OR Denver San Francisco Hartford Seattle Virginia Beach Sacramento San Jose Richmond San Diego Cincinnati Salt Lake …<\/p>\n\n
