What if we gave ourselves a 30-day challenge?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nThere are lots of extreme challenges out there \u2026 extreme diet or exercise plans where you stridently torture yourself down a dress size or two while ignoring family and friends, pleas for balance, and maybe a little attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019d like to go a little lighter \u2026 I\u2019m thinking more like borrowing a little bit from Lent. What small thing would you change \/ give up \/ or add to your busy life to make it a little better?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Here are some ideas \u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nWalk 30 minutes per day<\/li> Ban elevators when you\u2019re traveling less than five floors<\/li> Eat 5 to 9 servings of fruits and vegetables per day<\/li> Ban soda from your life (for me this is Diet Coke and a constant struggle!)<\/li> Meditate daily<\/li> Write in a journal daily (could be for gratitude, food, exercise or whatever )<\/li> Call someone you love every day (community builds healthy living)<\/li> Eat at least two meals a day prepared by your own hand from scratch (frozen dinners don\u2019t count!)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\nI\u2019m doing it \u2026 does anyone else want to join me? Let\u2019s come up with one small change and incorporate it into our lives so it becomes second nature. You can be ambitious and do more than one!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Me, I\u2019m going for meditate daily. I have only mastered sporadic meditation \u2014 I\u2019m lucky if I get three times in per month \u2014 but I know how much it helps me be calm and creative and has a halo effect on all other areas of my life. Because I\u2019ve struggled with it so much I\u2019m going to just commit to that one thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We\u2019re starting on Monday, April 11th. Who\u2019s with me? I\u2019ll post a thread every day where we can share our journeys and find a little support, humor, and advice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
