As I predicted in last week’s post, I’m again back down to the lowest weight I’ve been during my two month (plus) odyssey, and I’ve also lost another inch in my measurements. While it’s only seven pounds dropped, it’s a whopping 11″ down across my body! Woah!
That said … I’m annoyed at the scale. Three times now it’s hit the same low number and then bounced back up, even if only slightly. The inches keep coming off, and I know I shouldn’t worry about the number, but I stare at it, and I make faces at it, and it just won’t seem to dip any lower. I know, I know, it’s just a number. It’s almost meaningless when it comes to overall health, fitness, etc. BUT … I’m a tad type A and it’s bugging me! Would you just be gone already? Sheesh!
I have been working out like crazy and it’s definitely changing my body. My arms are more sculpted and my hips finally went down 1/4″ since last week, twice as much as any week before, so yay! The biggest plus is that my flexibility has increased with all of the Pilates mat work I’ve been doing. I love that this workout is changing my body; it gives me even more confidence that it’ll do good things for yours too.
Logistics, Logistics
I’m meeting today with some potential “back up dancers.” That’s what I’ve been calling the two women who will be positioned behind me on set for the video shoot. They aren’t 20-somethings, but rather graceful and energetic 30/40-somethings, and I think they’ll be a great fit for the DVDs. Heck, I might just teach them the routine and I’ll be a backup dancer. :-)
I’ve also been doing a lot of work on my face. Yep, that thing that will be smiling on camera needs a bit of prep. I’ve had three chemical peels so far, and now I’m getting an IPL something or other. My very good friend owns a Med Spa and she’s kindly contributing to the shoot by blasting a wrinkle here, a blemish there. We also had a discussion about my pasty white skin. I actually reflect light (not kidding) which is bad because it makes me appear larger on camera than I actually am. Basically this means my arms don’t look toned, they look flabby. So I’m doing a lot of arm work (part of the routine anyway), but she also suggested I go to a tanning salon before the shoot to deepen the color of my skin.
We’re not talking “fitness competitor orange/brown,” just something a little sun-kissed. Only one problem: I seem to be allergic to whatever stuff they use to deepen skin color. I usually break out in small bumps that itch for weeks. NOT sure I want to do that … so I’m going to a place this week to have a test done to see if I can handle it.
Oh yeah, teeth. I picked up a teeth-whitening kit to see if that’ll do anything. Of all the beauty regimen stuff, this is the cheapest by far, just $30 from my local drug store.
I haven’t mentioned wardrobe because I’m saving that for next week. I’ll be picking out two outfits for each video shoot and asking you guys to help me decide what to wear! Cool, no? Finally, I have to head into the hairdresser soon for cut and color … I can’t wear a ponytail for the Pilates video (Pilates messes with your hair), but I can for the HIIT video, so we have to figure out two different looks. AND I need to start looking for a makeup artist too … hmmm. SO much to do!
Things keep moving forward, I’m gaining more confidence as my body continues to tone up, and I keep practicing my routines. The Pilates video is locked and loaded, the HIIT one is getting there, and I should have it finalized by the end of the week. Thanks again for all the support you’ve given me! It’s been kinda awesome having you on board during this entire process.
Cheers,
Lisa
