As I write this, it’s been eight days since I filmed my two fitness DVDs and I’m praying they came out okay (actually, better than okay … please?). I’ve felt myself at a bit of a loss this past week; I spent so much time focused on this one goal, years of wanting it, months of planning it, weeks of executing it …
Now what do I do?
Of course there is still PLENTY to be done! Now the marketing is going full steam as I reach out to people and begin the process of letting people know about the videos and establishing my product. I need to design the DVD cover, still need to book the photo shoot (finally found a photographer, turns out he’s a guy I went to high school with), and a really long list of other things.
But the dream that was always in my head was getting to the day of filming. To have people buzzing around, to be creating a tangible product, something that I could be proud of. I hope I did that. I’m actually waiting for the video editors to let me know. I’m dreading watching the videos when they’re ready. I know I’ll be extremely judgmental about every little thing, from how I look to how I cue the exercises. Will I be able to be objective? Who knows …
As far as my diet goes post-shoot, I’ve been adding one or two starches a day back into my diet; any more and my stomach rebels on me. I’ve kept sugar to a bare minimum and, big surprise, one week removed I’m exactly the same as I was when I filmed … same measurements, same weight. The goal now is to stay right here or even to drop a little bit more, but not much … I’m pretty happy where I am.
There is one thing I did that was very smart: I planned almost no activities for last week. We didn’t go out, no socializing or networking events, and I kept meetings to a bare minimum … I just rested. Read some magazines, did a little creative thinking, it felt great! Surprisingly I think I got the same or even more done than I usually do.
I have to remember to slow down … I enjoy life more and I seem to get at least the same if not more done when I do take some time to breathe. (I need to get that tattooed on my forehead.)
That’s where I am this week. I’ll check back on the DVD progress as the final product gets closer. We’re only about two weeks away! I’m pretty excited to see that!
Cheers,
Lisa

Isn’t it kind of nice to say “no” or simply just plan nothing sometimes? I love those weeks and how productive they usually are.
Amanda, I really, really have to remember to do it more often … makes all the difference in the world. :-)
