Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution Vote with your Remote

Jamie Oliver is trying to save the World, One Plate at a Time

Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution debuts tonight with a double episodes beginning at 8 pm on ABC. It's rare that we as Americans can make a difference by being couch potatoes, but today is one of those opportunities. We'll be voting with our remotes if we choose to watch this show. This show stands for empowering Americans to be healthier. Higher ratings will be noticed in Washington, DC, in the food manufacturing industry and by our local politicians too. If we show we support a healthy lifestyle (dare I say movement?) then we'll start to get the support we need from industry and the government. There are lots of families out there, eating well, exercising and taking care of themselves. But they often feel overwhelmed by the barrage of advertising for junk food and the indifference of our government to our ever expanding waistlines. There's been a lot of lip service paid to "being better" but not a lot of execution. So watch Jamie Oliver's show, he's a like-able chap with a big mountain to climb and a boulder on his shoulder. Pick up a tip or two about how to eat better and maybe, just maybe, be encouraged to pay it forward. Here's how I pay it forward. I love throwing dinner parties and when I do I always make sure that everything is organic, sustainable and humanely raised. After the ooh and aaahs are passed around I let everyone know how healthy their dinner was. I always get at least one look of surprise from a guest. A small way to open someone's eyes.
