This post is about honor. I have the honor of being friends with Jacqui Carly, a wonderful woman, singer, yogini, blogger, and life enthusiast who likes to celebrate all that life has to offer. I also have the honor of knowing Danielle LaPorte through social media circles and have benefited from her wisdom on moving forward and creating the life you want.
LaPorte has just published a new book called “The Fire Starter Sessions.” The book hit #1 on Amazon in the categories of Success, Motivational, and Entrepreneurship, and I have the honor of giving away five copies on my blog today! The books have been donated by Jacqui as we both would like to “share” Danielle with you! How cool is that?
The sub-title of “The Fire Starter Sessions” is “A Soulful + Practical Guide to Creating Success on Your Own Terms” and the book is all about tapping your potential, overcoming very real fears and doing it anyway. It’s about finding your mojo, your special secret sauce, the true person you were meant to be. It’s about empowerment and potential, BUT it’s not just in an earthy-crunchy way; it’s more a find yourself and still pay the mortgage kind of way. This is not “Eat, Pray, Love” encouraging readers to throw everything away and chase after your dreams with a wing and a prayer. It’s about keeping all that is already good and making it even better.
I’m not the only one paying it forward today; Mara, a healthy-living blogger at Medicinal Marzipan, will be giving away five copies today too! So share some of your own love and check out her great blog where she writes about body image and authentic living. Mara and I have shared blog ideas from our own unique perspectives over the years.
Here’s how to enter my contest: Just leave a comment below talking about one thing that you love about yourself. I don’t mean like, I mean adore! Honor yourself and tell me what makes you happy or amazes you about yourself. Share it below and I’ll pick a winner at random at 9:00pm EDT this evening. :-)
To start you off, here’s my thing: I have inherited my grandmother’s fingers. She could type 120 words per minute on a manual typewriter! Yes, the old-fashioned kind where you had to push the thingy on top to return the carriage back to start the next line. 120 wpm! Can you imagine? She bought me my first typewriter for Christmas when I was 12 and told me, “No matter what happens, learn to type and you can always make a living.” She was so right, but she had no idea that it would be something like blogging that would be my path. It was an amazing gift of DNA and foresight and Gram, I thank you for both every day. Oh, and I type a paltry 110 wpm.
Remember, leave a comment below by 9:00 pm Eastern tonight! While you’re at it, consider joining my mailing list; just sign up over on the top right-hand column! I’d love to have you receive my weekly newsletter.
What’s your amazing thing? Cheers,
