Deb, I totally agree with you but we need a way better name ;-) I have a blog called http://TrueFoodMovement.com. and I started it because there wasn't a catch all site that I could find that just focused on eating well and loving the planet. Please have a look and feel free to join the "True Food Movement" :-)

The numbers aren't surprising at all. We've got to get at the root of the problem, vote with our forks, clean up our food system and spread the word. Just imagine how we could change the numbers if we could get more people to follow the simple "Eat Whole Natural Organic Food and Grass Fed Animal Proteins Without a Label" Diet. We are exactly a product of what we eat.

It is amazing to me the # of children who don't exercise. With the emphasis on video and computer games, we're setting our children up for a lifetime of health problems. Very alarming.

Diane I totally agree. 56% is enough that the politicians will have to back it though, voters would get mad if you voted against healthier school lunches ...

Great article! The stats are encouraging, but still - in my mind - way short of acceptable. Only 56% of people want to spend money on child obesity? What do they think it should be spent on?!? I believe that getting and keeping our kids healthy (and educated, but that's another story) has to be a very high priority, otherwise there'll be a knock-on effect that filters through to everything else they do for their whole lives.
