30 Day Challenge: Day 20

We have chock-a-block full days. We hit the ground running in the morning and go, go, go until we hit the hay in the evening. It seems like all technology and innovation have accomplished is to leave us tethered to the internet and our responsibilities in a whole new way. So if you bring something new into your life, chances are you're going to have to give something up. If your challenge is to eat healthfully it's a given that you're giving up junk food. But what else are you giving up? Are you skipping the social aspects of lunch with your coworkers at the restaurant up the street in favor of a salad, brought from home, at your desk? How much time have you had to shift from preparing foods when you used to just grab and go? For those of you with an exercise challenge you probably weren't exercising as much before. Where is that time coming from? Watching TV? How much sleep your getting? Maybe it sounds noble, maybe just trite, but you're going to have to sacrifice something here ... what have you had to let go of and are you ok with that? This won't be a permanent change for the better if you deeply resent what you had to give up in order to bring this new thing into your life. Take a moment and figure out what you're thing is. For me, it's family time or sleep. I've been oscillating between getting up early to reach my daily goal or sneaking it from time I normally spend with my family. I cherish my sleep and my family so this has been the hardest part about achieving my daily goal and I had to admit I've missed a few days because of it. Let me know how you're doing and what you've had to give up. Cheers, Lisa

I’ve only given up a little extra sleep which to me sleep is overrated anyhow! LOL but seriously I get up early anyhow and this just means getting up a bit earlier…though today I didn’t..thus the weird and late times of my push ups!
I had a rough evening and rougher day today…but the only thing I can really control is what I do personally so I have to keep doing my challenge(s)and not lose control of those things that are within my control…so totally good with giving up some sleep!

Tara, I am the opposite, to me if I don’t get enough sleep everything else doesn’t happen. It’s crucial to how well I function through the day and I’m not willing to get up early for it. Problem is my husband’s a night owl so I frequently get dragged into staying up later than I should because I’m watching a TV show w/him or enjoying his company. I need to be independently wealthy so I don’t have to go to work in the morning, then I’d be fine! lol
