I’m so excited to begin today! I’ll be writing these posts every day over the next month, so at any time you can come back and do another 30 day challenge on your own. Always feel free to post your successes. I check every comment that comes to my blog and I’ll see it and respond to any successes or questions you have.
Day 1: Piece of cake, right? We’re full of energy and we’re ready to go. We’ve got our one simple healthy change and it just couldn’t be easier. So while we’re upbeat, hopeful, and positive, I want you to do two things.
1. Write below how you did for day 1. Was it easy or trickier than you suspected? Did an obstacle pop up that you had to deal with?
Then I want you to do one more thing …
2. Write a note to yourself that will keep you motivated on Day 22 when you don’t want to do it. What words of wisdom are you going to need to tell yourself later to stick with the program? Then, when you’re feeling stuck, you can come back to Day 1 and read that note to yourself.
Does that sound like a plan? If you ever have any questions, please post them in the comments section of the daily log. If I don’t know the answer I’ll research it and get back to you. My guess is you guys are going to be inspiring a lot of blog posts. :-)
Are you ready? Are you excited? I am! Let’s do this! One final thing: if you’re not already on my email list, please consider joining. I only need your name and email and you’ll get lots of tips and tricks for staying healthy that don’t make it to the blog. You’ll fined the sign up link in the right hand column at the top.

I’ve got day one of meditation in. I found my Zen spot for a few seconds 3 or 4 times. I have beads and I count off 108 mantras and it takes about 20 minutes. It wasn’t a bad beginning to my 30 days.
Note to self for later: Lisa, meditation helps you be calm, write better, workout more often and eat more healthfully. You even sleep better. There is no way you can tell me you can’t spare 20 minutes. Suck it up and do it. Plus you’ll feel so awesome when you accomplish this. (yeah, that’s what I need to tell myself for it to work …) :-)
How are you guys doing?
Lisa
Good morning!
I got up at 5:30 this morning! Had sometime to myself and got a little work done! Love, love the early morning once I am out of bed. It just makes my day better.
Happy Monday!
Jamie
Lisa,
This is a wonderful focus to begin TODAY! (great idea w/the 30 days) You are inspiring me. :)
AND I love your comment about your 108 mantras using the beads. Love that.
Thank you!
Maya
Jamie, yay on early-rising day one! :-) Maya, thanks for stopping in, let us know how we inspire you :-)
Just completed my day 1 challenge
blogged it in detail at http://www.taraburner.com/abs-crunches-push-ups/push-ups-day-1.php
but did all 100 push ups AND part of it was in conjunction with my earlier ab challenge so it worked out perfectly!
Yay Tara! :-)
A challenge that never used to be a problem for me, but is now, since I’m not eating much: getting my 5 servings of fruits and veggies per day.
So far, it’s 1:30 on the left coast, and I’ve had 3. I think I’m doing well.
Note to self on day 22: Brooke, fresh produce gives you the proper nutrition that you need to recover fully from injury and surgery, so… DO IT and KEEP ON DOING IT! Besides, filling up on healthy stuff will keep you from filling up on empty calories, right? ;)
Brooke, excellent approach and I love the getting 5 every day. It can really be tough sometimes. For everyone reading this a serving of fruits or vegetables is 1/2 cup cooked or 1 cup raw. :-)
way to go Brooke…
that’s one thing I have no issue w/since I practically live on fruit, veggies and quinoa…
now getting my daughter to get her 5 servings…that’s a challenge! I’m lucky to get 3 in her a day
YAY! Day 1 done :) I actually started day 1 yesterday to get myself started on it. So yesterday, to get myself drinking more water, I made reminders every 2 hours on my phone to drink more water. I know that I should automatically drink water but I am often too busy sometimes to say, “Amy take off the cap of your SIGG bottle and drink water.” I definitely did drink more water today and yesterday than I have been drinking so that was a success.
In addition, I am going to be running/walking for 30 mins(most days will be a run/walk interval) until I can get myself to run 30 minutes without stopping and yay, this beautiful weather has really helped with the last two days with that!
Thanks for doing this Lisa :)
Good weather definitely helps Amy! Congrats on getting your 30 minutes in. We’ve got one day down, 29 to go. L-
