10 Healthy (and Silly) Ways to Spend Your Tax Refund

Submitted by Lisa Johnson on April 15, 2010 – 2:56 am2 Comments

The average American gets a refund of $2,488 (2007 numbers) from the IRS.  What are some healthy ways to spend that money?  Here’s some serious and not so serious suggestions.

  • 3 nights at Canyon Ranch in their Executive Double Suite in Lenox, MA
  • 33 Personal Training Sessions at $75 per hour (you can afford to hire a good one!)
  • a Precor Treadmill, super fancy (you’ll owe an additional $11)
  • Personal Chef, 14 weeks of privately cooked meals in the Boston area for a family of four
  • 25 pairs of Lululemon pants.  You’ll look fabulous at the gym
  • a 2 person Kayak with a see-through clear frame.  Very cool.  Plus $443 for paddles, lifevests and gas for a trip to a local lake.
  • 165 fitness videos, a different daily workout for 6 months.
  • Plan and stage your own 5K road race.  Dedicate it to whatever you want.  Design a cool Tshirt.
  • Your own Pilates machine.  I have this exact one in my home.  (Plus $11 & shipping)
  • 23 ninety minute massages at $110 each

There you go, some great ideas to feel better about that refund.  What would you like to do?
